Portrait Guide

What to expect

Before Your Session

I have several locations in my surrounding area to choose from. Rustic barns, open fields, city streets, coffee shops, and many more! I will talk with you guys to narrow down the perfect place, and to schedule a time and date that will work for everyone. I do require a signed portrait agreement to reserve the day.

If you have any specific ideas, or locations in mind please contact me. I'd love to meet up for coffee or chat on the phone with you to discuss those ideas!

After Your Session

It will take about one to two weeks for me to get your images ready to view depending on the type of session. Then we will schedule an ordering session. I usually meet with my clients at a local coffee shop, and we will go over your gallery, and you pick out your favorites while we drink some coffee! Now, if you're not local it's not a problem! We can discuss things together online!

I never want you to feel pressured into purchasing more than you'd like. Deciding how to display your items can be a bit overwhelming, and that's why I'm here to help. After ordering, the delivery of the print varies based on what you have ordered, generally about 2 to 3 weeks. Some specialty products take time so if you purchase an album or canvas it may take a bit longer.

Some Things To Know

Rescheduling:

If we need to reschedule due to an illness, or the weather not cooperating that's not a problem. There is no extra charge to get you back on schedule.

Props:

I don't usually use props for sessions for family sessions other than maybe a blanket to sit on. Although, if you have something specific in mind that's sentimental, family heirloom, or something that demonstrates you or your relationship that you'd like to incorporate, let me know!

Clothing:

Please make sure clothes are ironed and wrinkle free! Make sure your clothing fits well, and that everyone can sit, stand, and walk comfortably in their outfits and shoes. Make sure you have the right underclothes, and socks for the session. Color coordination is not essential but it can make for attractive family photos, by mixing up colors with each person. Rich neutral tones are my favorite! Accessories are great to change the look of outfits as well by simply adding a scarf or hat in some of the pictures. If you need some more tips or if you have any questions I'm more than happy to help.
